YOGA MALA

ON INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

Led by Aparna Rajesh, Bikram Yoga Oslo warmly welcomes you to join us on the 21st of June (the longest day of the year aka Summer Solstice) for a Yoga Mala practice.

This practice will serve to recognise the International Yoga Day as well as bid farewell to our beloved Vinyasa teacher and colleague, Marisabel DaVeer who will be relocating to Mexico after this day.

The Mala

Together we will be practicing 108 Sun Salutations.

108 is a Harshad Number, and Harshad is a Sanskrit word that means "great joy"

This will be an intense 2hr practice which will be immensely Meditative connecting the body, the mind and the nature around us which will be undergoing a change as a result of the summer solstice.

Coupled with this change in nature, you can expect a thorough mental and physical reset leaving you fresh, renewed and inspired for the summer vacation which kicks off on this same date.

This class will be led by Aparna who is trained and experienced in leading yoga Malas in India.

The Structure

The 2 hour session will begin with a centering process where there will be an opening mantra, deep breathing practice and a warm up followed by the yoga mala.

After completing the 108 Sun Salutations, there will be a short guided relaxing Nidra practice lying in Shavasana.

We will end the class with a short closing mantra and send our beloved Marisabel off with all of our blessings & love.

It is advisable to have a meal 3 hours prior to the start of class and have as empty of a stomach as possible.
